RICHMOND, Va. — ITT Defense and Information Solutions is planning to establish its new corporate headquarters in Fairfax County following its spin-off from ITT Corp. later this year.
Gov. Bob McDonnell announced Monday that the company would invest up to $5 million in the project that will create 100 jobs over the next three to five years.
The company has a strong presence in Virginia with offices in McLean, Herndon and Roanoke.
ITT Defense and Information Solutions provides products and services including intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems, weather and climate monitoring and integrated electronic warfare. Following the spin-off, the company will be renamed ITT Exelis.
McDonnell approved a $100,000 grant from the Governor’s Opportunity Fund for the project. The Virginia Department of Business Assistance will provide support for recruitment and training activities.
